Community Involvement
Ride to Conquer Cancer – Team Captain (2017 – present)
A ~250 km ride over 2 days that departs from Vancouver and ends in Hope, BC. The Ride to Conquer Cancer aims to raise money for cancer research. We plan events to raise awareness and funds. The minimum we must raise is $2,500.

Car Free Day – Volunteer Manager (2017), Donations Coordinator (2016)
A set of street festivals in Vancouver that celebrate local culture, sustainability, community, and places for people (rather than cars). As a donations coordinator, I reached out to my community to attain prizes for our many volunteers. As volunteer manager, I recruited, organized, trained, and coordinated hundreds of volunteers for the 3 festivals. To make this process more efficient, I used the NationBuilder CRM.

Riley Park Community Garden – Volunteer Gardener (2017)
As part of my Masters of Education for Sustainability group project, Rewild Vancouver, we tended to a garden bed at Riley Park. Our bed was filled with species native to the Lower Mainland, and was used during Saturday work parties as an educational space. We connected local residents to ideas around things like native plants, habitat fragmentation, and the importance of pollinators. Community gardens are amazing spaces to build community, get your hands dirty, and care for the earth.
MS Walk – Site Coordinator (2017)
The MS Walk takes a stand against multiple sclerosis and raises funds and awareness in a way that also builds community. As Site Coordinator, I was responsible for designing the event in order to increase user-friendliness, flow, and efficiency. I created a visual map to communicate the blueprint.
HUB Bike to Work Week – Public Engagement Volunteer (2016)
Bike to Work Week is a community event that celebrates active transportation in the Lower Mainland. I volunteered at celebration stations to connect with fellow cyclists (i.e. anyone on a bike - cyclists aren't just serious bikers in jerseys!) and gather data around barriers to biking and how cycling in Vancouver could be improved.
Vancouver General Hospital – Occupational Therapy Volunteer (2014-2016)
I volunteered at the Banfield Pavilion and helped the occupational therapy staff. I connected with the residents, ran small events and activities, and sometimes helped patients with their exercises. I aimed to create a positive environment while I was there.
